Life story
July 15, 2019

Dear family,

Mummy went into the arms of the Lord at 6:30 pm on July 15th. 2019 - "pradosham time". The end was very peaceful and full of Grace. Kiran caressed one hand and I the other. The chant of Gods name from the player softly filled the room. Her breathing slowed down with each passing minute and very gently life ebbed out of the body . The chant stopped with her last breath and the soul merged with the Supreme being. She is in a beautiful place with her Maker, all her friends and loved ones who went before her.

She had a full life as a Dewan Peshkar's daughter in Kerala, as a sports person playing tennis and riding, as an activist in the "Satyagraha Movement" in Kerala, living through World War II waiting 7 years for her husband-to-be to return from the war where he was serving in the Royal Air Force in Britain, through two wars against Pakistan, as the wife of an Indian Air Force officer during the bloody partition of India, as a mother of her children, as a teacher trained by Madam Montessory herself, as a teacher in Modern School and St. Columbus High School drawing out the best in many thousands of students including Rajive Gandhi, as a branch manager in my transport company handling truck drivers, as a " Panchayat President", as a loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren (with whom she had a special relationship) and great grandmother to her four great grandchildren, as a friend to her daughters in law and grand daughters in law, as an artist in her 90's, and the list goes on. She walked with kings but never lost the common touch. God graced her with a life well lived through its ups and downs .

The funeral was on Tuesday at 2:00 with the traditional prayers in the Orthodox Syrian Christian tradition.
In accordance with her wishes her body was cremated at 4:00pm and the ashes immersed in the ocean at Besant Nagar beach. As the sun was setting a huge wave came and took the urn with it and she kind of sailed into the sunset. The full moon soon rose into the sky. It was really choreographed and orchestrated from above because soon after the sky's opened up and showers of joy and celebrations came pouring down. Nothing but Gods grace.

Love to all from  all of us.
